The Rhine Valley Research and Innovation Center "RhySearch" is getting a new member of the Board of Directors. With Empa Director Tanja Zimmermann, an internationally renowned scientist and experienced manager of research institutions has been recruited. 

The Rhine Valley Research and Innovation Center "RhySearch" starts the new year with a personnel reinforcement. With Prof. Dr. Tanja Zimmermann, the board of directors under the leadership of Werner Krüsi again consists of five members.

Tanja Zimmermann holds a doctorate in materials science and has been Director of the interdisciplinary research institute of the ETH Domain for Materials Science and Technology Development (Empa) since June 2022; prior to that, she was Head of the "Functional Materials" Department and a member of the Empa Directorate. Last year, she was also appointed professor at ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne.

The Board of Directors of RhySearch is elected by the governments of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Canton of St. Gallen. Tanja Zimmermann is an excellent professional and personal fit for the Research and Innovation Center to implement its growth strategy.

Tanja Zimmermann succeeds Dr. Hans Ebinger, for whose significant contribution to the successful development of RhySearch the Board of Directors and the Executive Board are sincerely thanked.
