Most Industry 4.0 events today focus on the latest trends such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and extended reality. Although these topics are highly interesting for participants, we have found through feedback from past events that many companies have not yet reached this level of digitization strategy. With our event "Data Collection and Handling" in our networking event series "Future of Precision Manufacturing," we want to emphasize how important a solid data foundation is for digitalization. This is true not only for companies in precision manufacturing but also for any company that collects production-related data.
Our event consists of two lecture blocks where experts in this field will provide a deeper insight and share their experiences. The first block focuses on the digital connection of factories and the technologies available for this purpose. In the second lecture, we will explain why it is essential that not everyone should produce their isolated solutions and how a standard like UMATI can help.
To make the theme afternoon tangible, we offer a tour of the Model Factory at the OST University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Ultra-Precision Manufacturing Lab of RhySearch. This tour will also create an exchange between participants, which can be continued in the final panel discussion and the subsequent apéro.
