OCLA 2025- A look back

The OCLA (Optical Coatings for Laser Applications) Symposium took place in May 2025 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference is a key meeting point for experts in high-performance optics and laser coatings. Five researchers from RhySearch participated in the event.

In addition to engaging presentations and discussions, our scientists took the opportunity to visit leading laser-specialised companies in the region, gaining valuable insights into local developments in laser technology.

At the core of RhySearch’s contributions was a talk by Dr. Maryam Nazari on enhancing the performance of laser mirrors through dust-repellent, transparent, and conductive oxide coatings. The team also presented a poster on real-time detection of laser-induced damage using long-distance microscopy and light scattering – a contribution that sparked lively expert discussions. The presentation of RhySearch by Heidi Thomé and Marcel Marxer was closely followed by numerous guests from the local laser community.

📍 Save the date: RhySearch will once again host the next OCLA on 26 March 2026 in Buchs (SG), Switzerland. We look forward to seeing you there!
