Applied research and innovation are in our DNA. In 2019 we have again taken many milestones on the way to our goal of becoming a nationally and internationally visible research institute in our key areas of optical coating and precision manufacturing. In addition to our daily research and development work, highlights included our fifth Conference on Optical Coatings for Laser Applications (OCLA) and our first booth at the Swiss Innovation Forum in Basel. We were present at a total of 35 events, five of which we ourselves and two others which we co-organized. Our Optical Coating and Precision Manufacturing divisions worked on 18 projects in the course of 2019, were able to commission two new systems and prepare further investments. 

Of course, all this is not an end in itself, but takes place in the context of our mission and our ultimate goal: Together with our industrial partners, we want to develop and implement innovations with which they can achieve sustainable economic success. In this Annual Report you can read how we have done this in 2019.
